According to the 2008 corporate governance survey of Thai listed companies, Banpu was ranked one of the Top 22 Listed Companies with Excellence in Corporate Governance. Organized by the National Corporate Governance Committee, in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand (SEC) and The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), the survey was conducted among 448 listed companies based on five major criteria: shareholders’ rights, equitable treatment of shareholders, roles of stakeholders, disclosure and transparency, and the Board’s responsibilities. |

Banpu was awarded the ‘Best-Managed (Large-Cap) Company’ in Thailand by AsiaMoney, the world’s leading financial magazine. The award was based on survey results from fund managers, analysts and investors in the country, and took into consideration the 2008 overall performance of large-cap corporations in Asia according to the following criteria: business performance, management strategy and vision, investor relations, management information disclosure and transparency, corporate governance, as well as focus on shareholders’ benefits and operational efficiency. |
