Banpu was ranked one of the Top 70 Listed Companies with Excellent Corporate Governance Scoring, according to the Corporate Governance Report of Thai Listed Companies 2010. The Report was developed by the Thai Institute of Directors Association (IOD), in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand (SEC) and The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET).

FinanceAsia – a leading financial magazine and website in Asia under Haymarket Group, the UK’s largest publishing firm – announced the list of Asia’s Best Managed Companies 2010 in April. FinanceAsia has conducted an annual survey and ranking in each country across Asia for 10 consecutive years. In 2010, the survey was carried out among more than 300 analysts and institutional investors across Asia. For Thailand, Banpu was highly ranked in several categories including;
  • The Best Managed Company The Best CEO (Mr. Chanin Vongkusolkit)
  • The Best CFO (Ms. Somruedee Chaimongkol)
  • The 2nd Best Corporate Governance Company
  • The 3rd Best Investor Relations Company
  • The 3rd Most Committed to a Strong Dividend Policy
  • The 4th Best Corporate Social Responsibility Company

Banpu was ranked 2nd of the 10 Best Public Companies of the Year 2010 by Money & Banking Magazine. The ranking was based on the company’s overall management efficiency, as indicated in the business analysis (as of the year-end 2009) of SET’s top 200 listed companies with the highest market capitalization. The following three criteria were taken into consideration:

1. Company Size (market value, assets, and shareholder’s equity)
2. Profitability (sales, revenue, net profit, earnings per share, and return on total revenues)
3. Return on Investment (return on equity, return on asset, and dividend yield)

Banpu was ranked one of the 50 Most Fabulous Companies in the Asia-Pacific region – widely known as “Asia’s Fab 50” – in 2010 by Forbes Asia, a leading business publication and website in Asia. The Company was the only Thai company to have received this prestigious regional recognition in 2010.

The Asia’s Fab 50 has been conducted since 2005. In 2010, Forbes Asia evaluated 936 listed Asian companies with a minimum of 3 billion US Dollars in revenue or market capitalization. The focus was on each company's five-year track record of revenue, operating profit, and return on investment; while recent performance, share price movements, and business outlook were also taken into consideration.
